My name is Verónica Alfaro, I was and  born and raised in Costa Rica but I live in Brooklyn NY now. I am a Design Technologist who works in the intersection between UI/UX Design, Information Visualization and Human Centered Design. My background is Industrial Design Engineering and I am currently studying my Master Degree in Interactive Telecommunications Program (ITP) at Tisch School of the Arts, New York University.

As humans we have the ability to achieve unimaginable goals, both physically and intellectually. My education and my work experience have fueled a passion to improves lives through inclusiveness, sustainability, and innovation. My desire is to be able to work and collaborate in projects that are going to improve the lives of people by the combination of design and technology.

My passions extend beyond design and technology. Traveling and sports have made a great impact in my life. When I'm not exploring my surroundings or the great food around the world, I compete in athletics races. I believe that being active, practicing sports and the cultural experiences of traveling make me a better professional.

Sharing knowledge

Giving back to the community is very important to me; I wanted to find a way to encourage students and young professionals to get more involved in design and technology. I achieved this by giving lectures about the relationship between UX design and data visualization and hosting workshops focused on Human Centered Design.

Brainstation academy, San José Costa Rica.
